Canada: Unemployment at 8%

Canada lost 61,300 jobs in March as the unemployment rate jumped to the highest level in seven years. The figure was worse than the 55,000 job losses economists expected and brought Canada's official unemployment rate to 8 percent. Prime Minister Stephen Harper said the recession in the United States was dragging Canada down. Canada and the United States share the largest trading relationship in the world.
